Data Recovery
Uh oh! You deleted something you and you can’t find it. Or, you looked for something and it is gone because it was deleted previously and you didn’t know you deleted it.
In most cases, the data is recoverable. Even if you emptied your Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash Bin (Mac). This is because deleting a file removes it from view, emptying the recycle bin allows that space on the storage medium to be used again. Unless you have downloaded more content and this space is overwritten, your file is still recoverable.
Think of saving data (electrons stored on a frozen medium) as having a residue. Even if you remove (delete them) or move them, as long as new data isn’t written over the location, a deep scan will likely find this data.
What to do if you lose data?
If you realize you are missing data, it is important that you stop using your computer, flash drive, or hard drive right away to avoid creating, downloading, moving or saving any more data to that storage location. Do not create a new folder or use other folders on the storage medium.
It is best to power it down and get it to your trusted local computer repair shop or to us right away. We can perform a free, no cost scan (this may take hours or days depending on the storage capacity) and can look for the file description you give us, or we can send you a report of what we found as a result of the scan. We charge a fraction of what data recovery specialists may charge.
Our pricing model
Data recovery is a complicated case, not every data loss situation can recover lost files, it is why we provide a free evaluation scan which can preview documents, photos and play videos, audio, etc. after the scan completes so that you can see if your lost files are recoverable before purchasing our services.
