Remote Support
Have a problem? As long as your computer can turn on and connect to the internet, we can help you without traveling.
What is remote support?
Remote support is when a professional connects to your computer by an internet connection to see your screen and use your mouse and keyboard, as being directly in front of it.
Remote support is helpful because it eliminates the need to travel, reduces billable, eliminates gas money spent on transportation, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and is the preferred method of support. With remote support, you do not have to get up from your chair or move over to let someone else crowd your space. Last, remote support is faster than in person support.
Is remote support safe and secure?
The answer is, it depends. There are many remote access software choices out there but not all of them are secure, particularly the free ones. Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom are great for simple support but do not allow the person to see or interact with your screen when something requesting elevated admin credentials pops up, so installing software if the computer has security measures (which we strongly recommend) is tough.
That’s why we purchase a commercial grade remote access software that works on MacOS and Windows devices, is secure, and allows for one time only quick help connection without the need to install software permanently on our computer.
